askUS Training Retires Nonemployee & Contingent Worker ILT

You asked US! – Answers to Common Questions

Is an appointment the same thing as a job?

No, but you're not alone if you're confused by the term. Long in use at UT, the term appointment has changed meaning over time. To learn more about the history of the term and how it's now used in Workday, continue reading Terminology Talk – Academic Appointments.

How do I get authorized to access Allocation Details?

Authorizations for Allocation Details are limited to those who hold the Cost Center Manager or Cost Center Financial Analyst role in Workday. If you don't hold one of these roles in Workday, contact your unit's Workday Security Partner. For more information, continue reading Authorization for Allocation Details or refer to the Allocation Details Training Resources page for general guidance.

After a holiday, why do hourly non-benefits eligible staff have unpaid holiday time on their timesheets?

Workday automatically adds Unpaid Holiday hours to timesheets to assist managers and timekeepers with noting the holiday when reviewing timesheets. If staff members worked during a holiday, they should enter hours worked as usual. For more information, continue reading Unpaid Holiday Time in the askUS Knowledge Base or refer to the Employee Resources help page for assistance with time entry.
