You asked US! – Answers to Common Questions

Our HR Executive is out of the office for two weeks. How do we handle approvals in Workday during their absence?

Any time you need to plan for or react to the absence of a key role holder in Workday, the best place to start is the Role Holder Absence Guidance – Workday Process Overview (WPO). In this case, your best course of action would be to set up a Delegation so a designated delegate can approve tasks and business processes that route to the absent role holder's Workday inbox.

Can I manage Manual Signature Authority through Electronic Office Management (EOM)?
Departments manage electronic and manual signature authority through different methods due to each controlling specific levels of authorization. You can manage electronic signature authority through the EOM but should contact the Signature Desk to perform manual signature authority changes. To learn more, continue reading Electronic vs. Manual Signature Authority.

How can our center use Workday to track non-paid relationships with faculty contributors outside our unit?

You can use courtesy faculty appointments to establish and track relationships between faculty and your academic unit without needing an additional job with scheduled weekly hours or compensation. To learn more, continue reading Courtesy Faculty appointments help units create and track faculty relationships.

Who can create a new authorization (admin) view in EOM?

Only an electronic office manager or a delegate can create new authorization views. For an overview of the process, continue reading Create an Authorization (Admin) View in the Electronic Office Manager (EOM).
